The Challenges of COVID19

What the Exmoor Pony Project is doing and how you can help

COVID19 is a global challenge which will affect everyone. As Governments act to try and manage the spread and impact of the pandemic in a way that allows our health services, infrastructure and population to cope - we're already all feeling the impact in some way.

Firstly, to all our supporters - I hope you stay healthy and safe and for those who encounter the virus, I wish you all a speedy and full recovery.

Here at the Exmoor Pony Project and farm, we're pretty much self isolating and doing the best we can. This means no volunteer help and it's also meant having to put workshops, visits and other activities on hold.

So income streams for the Exmoor Pony Project are being cut off. Our Patrons are facing their own challenges and a huge heartfelt thank you to those of you who can stay with us. It's understandable that crowdfunding is proving difficult - because everyone and everything are challenged.

However, the Exmoor Pony Project overheads continue relentlessly and yet, the high standards of care and management of the ponies must be maintained, including those with special requirements. Like so many others, we're facing the crisis of loss of income, reduced resources, a lot more work and a lot of animals who depend on us staying fit and healthy. It's tricky and unnerving.

With everyone in the same boat, it's important not to panic and to face these problems calmly, with resilience, and to keep trying to work out ways to keep going.

We've come all this way with these very special ponies and we're not letting them down now.

So if you do find yourself able to lend the Exmoor Pony Project some support, here's how you can help:

Managing this project week by week is critical and if enough people can contribute something, no matter how small, we have a much better chance of getting through this.

Sponsor The Exmoor Ponies
Follow this link to read about some of the Exmoor ponies in the project who need sponsorship . There are over 30 ponies in our direct care. Every sponsorship/donation makes a significant difference and is greatly valued. https://www.wildponywhispering.co.uk/sponsoring-exmoor-ponies

Become an Exmoor Pony Project Patron
I’m very grateful to the Patrons who’ve helped to get the Exmoor Pony Project Patreon Scheme up and running. There are various tiers of support, starting at around £10 a month. The Patreon platform is in dollars and everything is managed through secure PayPal, so it is safe and efficient. Regular income helps to get the Exmoor Pony Project onto a more stable footing - every little helps and every new Patron makes a positive difference.
