A beautiful book reading from Olivia!
Rowan The Exmoor Pony - the story of an Exmoor pony told in Rowan's own words

When I first wrote Rowan The Exmoor Pony, I asked various of my friends and family to read the story - and they said that they couldn’t put it down and had to read it in one sitting. They felt moved and happy from reading about Rowan’s journey - born into a free-living herd on Exmoor and discovering a whole new life off the moor after foals are gathered and weaned in the autumn.
The story of Rowan is a culmination of the lives and experiences of many Exmoor ponies and the adventures I’ve shared with them over the years. When told as a ballad, in Rowan’s own words, the story creates its own magic. Mostly, because readers can immerse themselves in the verses and imagine what’s happening - literally becoming part of Rowan’s story and experiencing what he experiences.
So, it was particularly lovely to hear that Olivia, who was gifted the book at Christmas, was delighted with the story and sat down and read it in one evening. She then gave this beautiful reading of the first chapter, which is truly lovely. I am really chuffed that she loves Rowan’s story.
Thank you Olivia, for sharing this reading and helping to communicate the story of Rowan The Exmoor Pony, which was written to promote interest in the breed and help Exmoor ponies to be better understood and appreciated.
Exmoors are incredibly special ponies and they are endangered. Each and every one of them is important and the more that people understand their qualities and attributes - the more we can ensure they will be safeguarded and protected for the future.
